Samsung Makes Cellphone From Corn

Samsung is planning to bring a little more ‘green’ to their cell phones later this year with the new E200 Eco.
The E200’s specs are nothing to write home about; however, the phone does include a 1.3 megapixel camera and an MP3 player. The revolutionary aspect is the fact that the entire casing is made of corn – or specifically corn-based plastic. A few companies have used this type of plastic with their products, such as NEC with their laptops, however this will be the first cell phone that features a complete corn based casing.
Companies opting to utilize corn-based plastics are helping take care of the environment; however, if the popularity of this material rises significantly, corn will be taken away from food-related production and contribute to rising food prices.
