The Future of TVs is OLED

The future of LCD and Plasma is looking gloomy as Samsung presents its 31-inch and 14-inch OLED TV to the market at CES. These TVs are a response to Sony’s previously launched 27-inch and 11-inch OLED TV’s.
Both Samsung and Sony’s TVs feature an amazing contrast ratio (which is one of the huge advancements of the OLED TV), as well as full 1080p video in a crazy thin panel. Samsung has no intention to produce these TVs yet, however OLED is going to be making its way to the market in the next couple years, and Samsung will definitely be a top competitor.
So what’s the hype about Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) Tvs you ask? Firstly, OLED TVs boast an insane contrast ratio, at around 1,000,000:1. Thats 100 times greater than a top end LCD or Plasma TV! OLED TVs are also able to produce 1080p video in very small sized displays. This means for even greater picture quality. All of this is embodied in an ultra thin panel (ranging from ¼ of an inch, to being so thin you can roll them up). Now on the economical side, OLED TVs consume less power than most TVs on the market today. This means you save on your energy bill each month. Also, the technology required to produce these TVs is very cheap, meaning you won’t have to dish out a years salary to get one.
