Google at your gas pump
Have you ever been a lost driver unable to get directions? Do you dislike stopping and asking for directions? Well no need to worry, soon you will be able to access Google Maps at the gas pump.
It was announced last week that the online search leader will dispense driving directions at thousands of gas pumps across the United States, starting next month.
These pumps are made by a company called Gilbarco Veeder-Root, and include an Internet connection with a screen displaying Google’s mapping service. Drivers will have the option to find local landmarks, hotels, restaurants, and hospitals selected by the gas station owner. Once the driver has selected his destination, he can then print the directions right out of the pump. Eventually motorists will be able to type in a specific address and get the corresponding directions.
